Physical Description

Neck-length dark brown hair frames Alma's face, which is set with two dark brown eyes. With a tanned complexion, her skin holds few marks otehr than the dirt of travel when she's been out and about in the streets and about her work. She doesn't have any scars yet. She stands at around 5'7", with a sturdy build.

For clothing she often wears layers of cheaply made clothing in a conservative, feminine style, weather and humidity permitting.

Personality

Modest and charitable, she cares deeply for her extended family in Old Rose Harbour, who've brought her up from the moment her mother fled town for mysterious reasons when Alma was ten or so. A very giving personality, she nevertheless detests high-born, well-to-do gollies, and has no issue stealing from or cheating them. Much of the proceeds she makes as a thief she gives to and spends on her extended 'family'. Idealistic to a fault, it may seem only a matter of time before Jobe's worst fears are realized, and he finds his daughter has joined the Resistance.

Past & Present History

About a decade after Jobe went to war, his old flame Gil, Alma's mother, died of fever. Her unscrupulous grandparents wanted to sell Alma off to the Gollies as a servant in order to recoup some of their losses for bringing them up but were thwarted by a combination of the girl's grief at losing her mother and the timing of her runaway attempt. She ran away from them before they had a chance to hand her off. The fact that she was, against all odds, able to run away to survive on her own on the street ensured her freedom. She wasn't brought up alone though. She had many friends along the way who helped her out. Other street rats and beggars and unfortunates.

Jobe still doesn't even know his daughter's name, and last he heard she was off to Vienda, directed that way by her grandparents. Much of his story will involve trying to find his daughter, and what became of her. And from the point he finds her, if he does, he'll try and dissuade her from getting involved in the Resistance or anything similar.
