30th Vortas 2716, early hours of the morning
The fire bottle went through the plate glass window with smash and a whoosh, as the expensive drapes caught like dry kindling.

Sounds of alarm went up along the street, the tall thin figure wrapped in a russet coloured great coat, an old battered hat and red scarf, which hid his features paused a moment to take in his handy work, the firelight reflected in hidden eyes.

A Seventen patrol ran into view, which was when the arsonists took to his heels and set off at a run.

His long legs and arms pumped and hob nails struck sparks from the cobbles and the long russet coat and red scarf streamed out behind him like the tail of a comet.

This was Aodh Elzo, and he had been in the city for a year.

Building intelligence before starting his one man war against galdori society.

The shop that now blazed in the winter night was that of one Guido Magnus Wolf, a cloth importer, merchant, landlord, and Aodh's first target.

He was known for treating his workers like slaves and the tenants in his slum tenements even worse. Whole families kept in squalor, no clean water and if they thought to complain it was the gutter for them, if you couldn't afford your rent same fate.

Or some more, unsavoury arrangement.

As Aodh ran he whooped with the sheer bloody joy of it, it felt good to strike back!

Running at full speed he veered right of the nearest and put on an extra burst of speed.

Aodh needed to be smart to a well as fast to get away from these brigk bastards, they were well trained and fit. One wrong move, or one of their damned spell slingers to get him in their sights and he was sunk.

He threw himself down a side street.

The patrol sergeant grinned and motioned for them too slow.
She knew this alley way, it was a dead end, they had this scum cornered.
Batons drawn they entered the cul-de-sac.

The smile melted from her face when she realised it was empty, their quarry had vanished.

Up above, in the shadow of a chimney stack Aodh struggled to get his breathing under control. He couldn't recall the last time he'd ran that hard, thankfully the brick work in the alley was worn enough to have provided handholds and footholds enough, for an agile light wick at least.

From below he heard.

"Must of climbed up the wall here sarge, up on the roofs some where."

"Yes recruit, I'd assumed as much, well we know where the scum is going. I want a cordon set up between here and the Dives.""

'Shit.' Aodh muttered as he set off towards the Dives, keeping low and quiet as he could. Which was fine, until he ran out of roof tops.

Which of course happened a street away from his goal. Aodh scanned the streets below, looked clear.

He part slid part climbed down a drain pipe into another quiet alley.

'Just got cross this square an' I'm home free.'

Aodh spoke softly to himself as he crouched in the shadow of a water trough. He braced, touched the small silver harp pendant his daoa had given him when he left the caravan.

Then he was up over the water trough and hit the ground running, going hell for leather across the board moon lit square.

"There, that's the sneaky little whorson!"

A patrol burst from the left side of the square, one stood forward hands raised. Aodh didn't wait to see what manner of magic this would be, he threw himself the last few yards across the square and into the maze of alleys on the other side.

He'd made it, but he didn't stop running till he was well hidden deep in Hollow Street.
