Maro was once told by a city cousin that hided and seek was a simple game played by small children, where the children go hide with one being designated as a seeker and the game only ending when the seeker gives up or the last child is found.

He doubted that cousin ever had to use it on learning how to track. For the Seran hunting was indeed still a game, just not limited to little children, they weren't stuck to the confines of whatever home or neighborhood they played, rather they had far wider areas in the form of say... the Wraithwine Woods. It wasn't the entirety of the woods of course, only a small portion that was still sizable enough for people to get lost in. A portion already scouted for aggressive fauna and poisonous flora and declared clear.

Indeed all that left was to be supervised by the adults.

Maro found himself to be annoyed by this situation, he'd rather be actually hunting, he'd already earned his bow after all! He could follow one of the adults and hunt for deer and the like!

Instead they were playing a game that had dragged a number of his age group to spend their afternoon on a glorified game of sorts.

"You've that look again"

His brows furrowed further and he turned his head to look at Nanja, who in turn had a look that she was enjoying her cousins discomfort.

"The one you get when you're about to lose"

Maro gaped, and he could hear couple of his cousins chortling at the.....at the... sheer impetuosity? That was a word! He knew it was a word! His parents used it when he was within earshot of him so it had to be.

Regardless he gaped at the sheer impetuosity his cousin had shown by implying that he, Maro Seran, was going to lose.

"you're wrong there, Nanja! Maro's only looking so annoyed is because this won't be a challenge!"

He countered, the nerve that he, Maro Seran would not be able to find a person like Nanja in the woods is laughable! Laughable he thought! Of course it appeared his Da, who was supervising this, thought that this would be a good idea for Maro to prove such a claim.

"Well boch, if you're sure its not a challenge"

His Da began and Maro turned about to see his gaze, one filled with mirth of a parent who thought this was a good moment to mess with their child.

Maro'd seen that look a lot, usually it was him, sometimes it was one of his brunnos or baetas, and like many times Maro knew he'd set himself to be the first up as tracker.

"Well... damn"
