Aurélien is a clean dresser, as it is often required of his job, but even in his leisure, he stands out for his sharp way of dress. Taught by his father to remain clean shaven, it is rare to see more than a day’s worth of stubble pricking from his jawline. It is rarer still to see his hair unkempt and mussed unless he has just woken up from sleep or a nap - of which he tries to frequently indulge in. His hair usually sits atop his head cut in a short way that allows for his fringe to wash over his brows. If kept lower than that, he often looks boyish and quite young. (Examples of his way of dress can be seen in the links below.)
He isn’t bothered by his busy schedule. In fact, it is necessary to him because lack of work makes him feel lazy and like a burden to those around him. While his attention to his work is great, his body has found ways to occupy itself with various twitches, mostly with his hands. These twitches manifest themselves as the rhythmic thumping of his fingertips on a hard surface, the constant up and down jostling of his legs, or the bobbing of his head to an unheard beat as he recites the important points of his work over and over in his mind. The twitches are small enough to be ignored, but those who know him well and study him can see that they are more than the occasional movement or fidget.
Aurélien is an honest person, too, but wields his candor with tact regardless of the situation. To friends, he is a caring and supportive person, and to business partners, he is an effective communicator who speaks truth of a situation without sugarcoating the facts. In arguments, he takes every advantage he can to prove his point whilst being receptive to the other person’s ideals - not that he’ll fold easily as much as he wants to find ammunition to further his own side.
Alone, he is a quiet person who enjoys his solitude. He revels in his own company and the company of close friends despite being able to perform well in pressuring social situations. Said situations tend to drain him and send him retreating to the solitude of his apartment and the companionship of his cat.
"The Commander" (ENTJ-A)
Commanders are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. However, Commanders are also characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they’ve set for themselves. Perhaps it is best that they make up only three percent of the population, lest they overwhelm the more timid and sensitive personality types that make up much of the rest of the world – but we have Commanders to thank for many of the businesses and institutions we take for granted every day.
Political Views
Galdori... Aurélien enjoys his position as a galdor gifted with particular strong magical abilities. He sees his fellows as his brothers and sisters and enjoys to see them succeed. His family was especially conservative and helped to instill these aspects in him as well, making him view the current administration with cautious curiosity. While many of his fellows may welcome the change in direction towards the inclusion of the lesser races, Aurélien is slow to share their enthusiasm. Outwardly, he will speak his mind and will listen readily to varying opinions, though they do little to change his own.
Humans... Aurélien views humans like many of his conservative fellows. He sees them as a lesser race and will not hesitate to put one in its place if he feels that they are straying from their societal constraints. While he does not necessarily believe that galdori were placed in the world to watch over and guide them, he does see their lack of magical prowess as a weakness and their inclination towards guns as cowardice. That said, if one can afford his consultation price or his price of representation in court, he will do his job and treat it as a transaction of business. Since this has yet to happen, he has not actually been faced with the consequences of choosing to represent a human in court.
Wick... Aurélien views Wicks with a level of disgust mixed with intrigue. He is perplexed by their want to reside outside of the safety and sanctity of the cities and secretly wants to know more about their nomadic ways of life, but he is not outward about his opinions. In fact, he will treat Wicks like he does a human if forced to interact with one: with detached interest.
Passives... Aurélien sees passives as ill-fated galdori. His fondest memories were with his passive nanny Sara, so he treats them marginally better than humans and Wicks because of their blood. He sees their fate as one not of their choosing and pities them in a way that causes him to render basic aid when necessary. While he has not joined the movement to grant passives more rights, he is not outwardly against it.
The first two years of his life were filled with caretaking by a combination of his mother and a passive galdori nanny, known to him as Sara. After his brother left the estate to attend Brunnhold, attention began to shift away from Aurélien and he was put almost exclusively in the care of his nanny Sara. His entire toddlerhood was peppered with brief interactions with his father and longer, though seemingly meaningless, interactions with his mother. Sara became his world and he grew to love her, his naive mind unaware that she was markedly different from his parents.
Around his eighth and ninth year of life, he was continually graced with the appearance of his mother and increasingly made appearances by his father. He had always been a quiet soul, and his parents were afraid that he, too, would be passive like his caretaker. However, their fears were dispelled when, on the eve of his ninth birthday, he started to show an inclination towards magic.
With no other children in the home, and with Aurélien’s parents beginning to show a renewed interest in their son, Sara’s talents as a caretaker were no longer needed and she was sent away from the LeClair estate to work in Morgane’s tailor shop as a seamstress and designer. Aurélien’s father took his son under his wing and began to bring him along to various events at Brunnhold, where Aurélien met many other upper-class members of society, fellow galdori like himself and his family. He learned his place in society during the last months of his residence in the LeClair manor, and when that time was up, he was enrolled in Brunnhold like his brother, mother, and father before him.
He passed the initiation into Brunnhold seamlessly and scored highly, solidifying his position in the school and foreshadowing his success in the magical arts. The beginning of his life at Brunnhold was marked by consistent growth, not only as a spellcaster, but also a person. His parents made sure that he wanted for nothing. He rarely saw or heard from his father, but his mother was more consistent with occasionally care packages sent filled with favorite foods, snacks, and encouraging letters. It took him time to return said letters, but as the years waned on, he grew more comfortable with his mother’s words and wrote her back as soon as he could. He rarely saw his brother Renard while attending Brunnhold, though they were both there, and didn’t see him again in full for an actual conversation until Renard graduated from Brunnhold. Aurélien was twelve at the time of his brother’s graduation.
The years began to tick by in Brunnhold after that, and they were filled with further growth. He excelled in classes focusing on magic - namely Perceptive and Static magic, as they were his favorites - but the capacity for growth in other schools resided there in his mind. At the behest of his colleagues, he also took classes that focused on combat with weapons such as swords and daggers, too, but he was never keen on them. For a time, Aurélien was lost as to what to do professionally. He exchanged letters with his mother, expressing the concerns he had for himself until an answer presented itself: law.
The last years of schooling at Brunnhold were filled with classes that cemented his knowledge of his chosen schools of magic and prepared him for further learning if he sought it out. They were also filled with classes that taught him the many complexities and nuances lying in Anaxas’ laws regarding the people (galdori, human, and wick alike) and businesses (both private and governmental).
Much like the last of his years in his family home, during the remaining years of his time at Brunnhold, his father came to him and helped establish a foundation for his professional career after Brunnhold. Using his arsenal of friends, Gauvain helped Aurélien build a minor clientele of small business owners and individuals that would follow the blossoming lawyer into his first law office in Vienda, his hometown.
Four years after graduating from Brunnhold, Aurélien works at Amourgis & Associates, an office opened by the Amourgis family long ago. With his already established clientele, he has been able to maintain a steady stream of work as a lawyer and has even begun to branch out his services as a freelance consultant of law to any who can afford his bill. His name is a murmur in the crowds of the upper class, bringing further work to both him and the law office. Though his name has yet to be made, he at least has a pen to paper primed to do so.

After realizing that goal of self-representation and freelancing, he wants to create his own firm and employ other a staff of headstrong and hardworking individuals like himself to fill the ranks. He certainly wants to continue practicing law after establishing his own firm, but wants that law to be of the governmental kind. He has aspirations of becoming a member of Congress, advising the current ruler(s) on issues of law on the international level.
Personally, he seeks to continue to build his friendships with fellow galdori like himself - those passionate and devoted to what they want to do. If not already professional inclined, then they at least have to know where they are going and what they want in life. Atop that, a romantic partner of the same ideals would be well preferred as well.
In the magical side of his life, he seeks to further his knowledge of magic and perhaps add a third, if not fourth, school to his small arsenal of spells. He seeks to grow as a mage and increase his power in his favorite schools of Static and Perceptive Conversation.
