Appearance

Thaddeus Sallow is a man of faultless appearance. Every bit of him is exactly as it should be, prim and proper, his clothes impeccable, his moustache perfectly groomed, his smile quick and easy. It is as much part of the sham personality he has constructed as it is genuine vanity, but Thaddeus Sallow rarely allows himself to appear sloppy or rushed. It is a sign of the man's patience and obsession with how he's perceived that every button on his uniform shines and every snap is in exactly the right place. Like most of his countrymen, Thaddeus is dark of hair and has olive skin.

Personality

On the surface, Thaddeus Sallow is a highly respectable galdor, a true gentleman through and through. Thaddeus Sallow holds the door open, he never swears, he is never late, he is honorable, just, and righteous. This is the impression most galdor-kind would have of the man, and that is precisely what Thaddeus wants them to think.

In truth the man is ruthlessly calculating and only keeps up the charming charade for so long as it benefits him. He is a patient man who does not make a move until he's certain of its outcome and always has the long-term consequences in mind. He is willing to take losses or insults and appear weak if he believes doing so would serve him in the long term. In short, almost everything Thaddeus says or does is a carefully planned move in the game of life.

Only his victims know the polite and proper man for the vicious beast he is. Only they get to see the power-hungry look in his eyes, right before he squeezes the life out of them. Killing is a thrill, but the real buzz is in the preparation preceding it. It's like preparing a fine meal, the eating of it is a pleasure, but it's the process of finding the right ingredients and preparing them in just the right way that makes it all worth it in the end. Few would be capable of imagining the extent of Thaddeus's crimes. The man has broken almost all the rules the Seventen are supposed to abide by and feels no remorse for having stabbed, cheated, and lied his way to his current position. Thaddeus Sallow is a man who understand that the road to power is paved with bloodshed and treason and he has accepted these conditions long ago.

More than anything else, Thaddeus is driven by the concept of control. He doesn't merely want or crave control, he needs to be in control.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths:
  • Patient, calculating - Having a goal is one thing, getting there is quite another. Thaddeus is a man with a clear goal and plans to achieve it, and though his plans might change according to circumstances he's careful not to be taken by suprise and has a knack for identifying possible roadblocks along the way.
  • Driven - Thaddeus's quest for power is driven by a singular, unflinching purpose. He is deeply motivated to achieve his goals and will work at them so long as he's able to breathe.
  • Socialite - Sometimes working your way up requires brute force, but most times it's a matter of knowing what to say when, and to whom. Thaddeus, more often than not, knows precisely what to say in order to advance his goals.
Weaknesses:
  • Gambling addict - Thaddeus enjoys the thrill and uncertainity of gambling and of course the validation of his ego when he bets right and wins. Unfortunately, his ego needs plenty fueling.
  • Lone wolf - Thaddeus isn't one for teamwork if he can avoid it. He simply doesn't really trust anyone but himself and as such tends to strike out alone. Whilst this ensures complete secrecy of his true goals, it also leaves him vulnerable.
  • Narcissistic - Thaddeus doesn't think he's right, he knows he's right. A true enemy might be able to make the scheming man slip up by appealing to his pride and ego.
Misc.

Motto: "Change must be forced."
