Physical Description
Athrym has inherited much from her mother’s Gioran side as far as appearances go, with white blonde hair, fine porcelain skin, full pale pink lips and high fine cheekbones. Unfortunately, to her mother’s distain the young galdor was unlucky enough to be hampered by her Anaxi father’s short stature and unremarkable wide set summer green eyes, framed with long thick lashes. She favours simplistic make up and a clean cut streamline appearance, priding herself on her ‘less is more’ approach. She has an almost dainty frame, that gives a false sense of a weak demeanour, but the blonde is anything but weak. Her people favour hard work and knowledge above all else, and as such she posses a strong dedication to the Mona and magic. The city of her childhood was carved out of the very rock, a feat in itself that Athrym strives to be strong enough to achieve.
Her style of dress is very much in line with that of Gioran culture, making bold statements with pale or pastel colored dresses that compliment her pale features and beautiful fur stoles or coats that shun the rain that is almost a constant companion in Gior. As a representative of the Gior people, Athrym is always robed in the best attire her wages can buy. Her straight white blonde locks are either left loose around her shoulders, or pulled back into a tight immaculate ponytail.

Personality
Due to her focus on her studies and her relationship with the Mona, Athrym comes across as cold. She struggles to respect anyone who does not put in the proper dedication to their magic, and has no time for those who don’t work hard. Pushing people away throughout her school years, the blonde preferred the company of the Mona over actual people. No one has ever really had a friendship with the woman. She takes after her mother in this aspect, and is embarrassed by her father’s Anaxi-go-lucky demeanour.
As per her upbringing, the woman has had little to no experience with wicks as they are unheard of in Gior, and finds it extremely confronting that humans are allowed in the same locale as galdori. She’d never admit it openly, but the human’s frighten her a little, strange non-magical beings with no people except to farm in her eyes. Why even let them near Brunnhold or even Vienda? The pale galdor is not unfamiliar with the treatment of passives in Anaxas, as her father has spoken of his own passive staff when he lived in the city. This isn’t to say she agree’s with it, as per her mother’s thinking these people are crippled by this disability and should be cared for as such. This is another reason why she has little love or respect for the short stout man.
Much to her own detriment, Athrym has a short temper and she is quick to snap to magical action. Due to her high performance in her study at Gior, Athrym was selected to become an ambassador for the Kingdom at Brunnhold. Originally, she declined, but the young woman’s mother encouraged her to take the opportunity, hoping some time in a foreign country might soothe her temper a little. She is frustrated by the woeful demonstrations the professors at Brunnhold are providing, and will participate almost daily in practice sessions and duels on the Lawn with the senior students or willing professors. As it is, she craves the use of magic, almost like a drug. The lure is strong for her, an addiction that is a problem, although she would never agree. If she can cast a spell, she will.
Backstory
Born to 52 year old Lord Margol Bruthgrave and his 27 year old wife Lady Carmell Mathen-Bruthgrave, Athrym was the first and only child of the peculiar arranged marraige. Lord Bruthgrave had made arrangements with Carmell’s father through their joint Gioran Cognac business partnership before the woman was even old enough to think of such things. When Lord Mathen passed away, his will outlined the details of the marriage, and as such the woman was bound to the short autumn haired galdor when she turned 21. After six years of blatant lack of trying, the young Gior fell pregnant and as such the heir to the Mathen-Bruthgrave business was born.
Her first ten years were spent under the close tutorage of her young mother, who rubbed off on the blonde her own hatred of the Anaxi that had imprisoned her in wedlock. The young girl did not grow up with love, but with distain and a push to ‘not be like me’ from Carmell. The Gior thrust up on her daughter all the things she wanted for herself but could not have.
Tested in Qrieth when she came of age, Athrym recieved a score of 7.3, quite a feat considering the terrible scores her parents had themselves received so many years ago. The child definitely had talent, yet she was never praised for it. Carmell instilled the Gioran expectation that hard work did not receive awards, it only proved you did as you should. The woman pushed her harder and harder. The constant pressure from her mother turned the blonde into an angry cold teenager, striving for something she would never ever get: her mother’s approval that she was ‘enough’.
This pressure and drive to be better caught the eye of the Da Huane, and as part of the ever ticking march towards the tenth cycle of rule, they have selected Athrym to represent Gior in Brunnhold. To be the face of their Kingdom and ideally put Gior into a strong light for the cycle turn over. When advised of this opportunity, the young woman refused at first, wanting to use her freedom from school to invest herself more heavily into the study of Mona and magic. Carmell persuaded her to take the offer, and as such the blonde has begrudgingly found herself in a moa-drawn carriage to Anaxas and into the awaiting arms of Headmaster Servalis.

Athrym lives in a small ground floor house in the Stacks, close enough to be within easy walking distance of the school grounds. It is a simple enough abode, containing a bed, a desk and a chair, a chest for her clothing, a small kitchenette with a stove, bathroom and a soft comfortable armchair. She is tended to by a university sanctioned servant who cleans the place and performs other errands for the woman. Although she has the place to cook, Athrym tends to take her meals at the University in the teachers lounge, as she cannot cook to save her life. Neither can the passive it seems.

As she is the face of Gior, Athrym needs to present a good image. She is striving to increase her magic knowledge, and her relationship with the mona by any means necessary. There is no good or great, only best. She would never admit it, but the young woman strives for her mothers acceptance and pride.
