Physical Description

Image

Currently inhabiting the body of a wick named Jack Tibby, who stands at 5'7". The man is covered in scars from a countless number of knife fights and alleyway stabbings usually caused or planned out by him, and always has a shifty look to him because of it. He has a somewhat skinny build, and never has been able to gain much muscle due to never having enough to eat decent meals reliably.

Since Augustus has started living in Jack he has kept the man's facial hair shaved, and his long black hair clean and well-kept.

Personality

Image

After one hundred and fifty years of switching from one body to another and constantly losing his original self, Augustus usually can narrow himself down to two different "personalities" at the end of the day.

His most recent life was as a human named Robin Fletcher, and in that lifetime he gained a sense of calm and peace for once in all of his lives. Augustus prefers to call himself Robin, as it helps him to forget his old self and the negativity of his original and past lives.

The original Augustus doesn't usually come to the surface, but when he does you can expect him to be very confused, angry, and afraid at the further loss of himself and his memories. The original part of himself still wants to hold on to the past, but 'Robin' is trying his hardest to forget everything from before.

After living in a countless amount of cultures and speaking multiple languages, Augustus struggles to differentiate between them anymore. His choice of words is usually eccentric, and it always sounds like he is still trying to learn the language, even if he is fluent or should be.

'Robin' cares little for politics of the land, and would rather just do what he enjoys. If he lived without ever hearing about the outside world or things that didn't affect him, he would die happy. The original Augustus, however, is still heavily invested in politics and will commonly ask about the state of the world, or who is in control of this or that office.

All iterations of Augustus distrust galdori. He remembers little of his past, but whenever he thinks about his original race he feels a fiery rage bubble up inside of him. 'Robin' treats most races the same, and finds himself too busy or confused to differentiate or care between humans and wicks. This is not applicable to 'Augustus,' humans and wicks are still below him, and he finds working with or talking to them leaves him feeling dirty.

When a raen inhabits a body they kill the soul inside of it, making it impossible to talk to the spirit of the body they have taken. At a first glance Augustus talks to many different people and names them after the bodies he has inhabited (which means at first glance, Augustus looks like he is doing something impossible)

The multiple personalities inside of Augustus are NOT different people, and it is simply Augustus mentally talking to himself constantly and trying to categorize all of his personalities from the countless number of lives he has lived. In doing this, he convinces himself that he is still the same Augustus from over a century ago, and that he is not insane.

For example, Robin is simply Augustus at peace, but the old Augustus simply calls him Robin in an attempt to convince himself that he hasn't changed. Every other voice inside of Augustus' head is just him talking to himself, and he gives the voices names only to convince himself that he isn't losing it.

Backstory

Augustus Drogace (2539-2564): Originally born to a large and influential family in Numbrey, life was easy for Augustus. The Seventen were always a part of his life, and he dreamed often of becoming one as a child. At the age of 10, he entered Brunnhold and scored a 6 on his initiation test. His family was hoping for something more from their son but a 6 was still nothing for them to scoff at. Specializing in static conversation, Augustus was popular and respected in the dueling scene.

After the boy had graduated, he immediately went home and started training to become a Seventen. The normal seven years of training had been sped up for the boy. He was eager to learn, but it was entirely because of his family's influence among the Seventen. After officially becoming an officer, his father promised him a chance to get into a powerful office if he was only patient.

Patience, however, was not something Augustus had ever been taught. The boy foolishly made an enemy of the Commander in an attempt to blackmail the man out of office. Immediately, Augustus found all of his friends and allies turned against him. On a normal patrol, Augustus found himself losing control of his body. Before he could stop himself, he had cast an ignition spell on the shop of a galdori citizen. The man outside only survived because a nearby patrol had conveniently been close by.

Augustus found himself on trial, and falsely accused of attempted murder of a galdor. There were multiple witnesses to his crime, and he only escaped being hung due to his family's name. As the ex-Seventen walked home that night, he found his movements becoming sluggish, and his mind struggling to focus. His family had disowned him that night to protect their reputation, and he was pushed onto the streets the day after.

Augustus had fallen far from his old post, but was dedicated to turn his life around if his body would work with him. Within two days his body had started to shut down and swell. By the time he realized what was wrong with him, he was too late. The possibility of the young man having Klakkis Morosia should have been impossible, but here he was with it. All doctors and living conversationalists had conveniently found themselves busy or out of town in the only week he had to cure himself.

The memories of Augustus start to fade after that, and history doesn't seem to remember what happened to Augustus afterwards. The only thing that comes to the raen's mind is the smell of smoke and the feeling of fire on his flesh.

Limbo (2564-2657): Augustus found himself in a rage at realizing he was taken out of the cycle, and dedicated his lives to trying to destroy the Seventen and his family; even if it meant working with an uprising. 'Death' was very common during these years for Augustus' bodies, and he silently hoped with each death he would experience his last.

Robin Fletcher (2658-2718): The raen gave up on his crusade, and resigned himself to taking over the body of a young five year old human named Robin. Perhaps the most peaceful time of his life, Augustus found himself content with the constant work to busy his mind, and within fifteen years he felt like he could reconnect with the boy's family. Augustus had taken their son, and he felt like it was his duty to at least be their new one. Even after Robin's mother and father had passed, the human had continued the business of his parents and tried to start his own family. After that Augustus only remembers fragments, but they all have a feeling of peace and love to them. His last image is of an old Robin Fletcher dying in his bed. His family was standing around him, children and a woman he can't put a name to.

Jack Tibby (The Present): Searching for a body that had nothing to live for, Augustus found himself following a common wick thug who had exited an alleyway, just finished with roughing a man up. After the wick found his way to his shack, Augustus struck and took over the man. With nothing left to do, Augustus travels aimlessly, looking for a new adventure and family to busy his mind with.
