Name: Jamie
Race: Passive
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Birthday: Intas 15, 2695
Kingdom of Origin: Anaxas
Current Location: Brunnhold
Occupation: Servant

Appearance: Jamie is typical for an Anaxi passive. While he has the short stature, at only 5'1", and the delicate features, he is quite strong compared to the galdori, and years of hard work have built muscle on his small frame. His hair is kept short, and is dark brown in color, while his eyes are a lighter shade of brown. He is frequently full of stains and dust from work, and it's not unusual for his hair to be wet from steam and hot water.

Personality: Quite friendly, Jamie is an open book, and as optimistic as a gated passive can be. He doesn't like his situation, but takes everything in stride; never letting much get him down. He is always friendly and conversational with his fellow passives, and willing to listen to anyone rant and vent at the end of the day. That being said, he is easily frightened, and takes Brunnhold discipline very seriously.

History: Jamie grew up in Vienda with his family and his older sister. The year after his sister left to attend Brunnhold, Jamie was discovered to be a passive, and was sent to work as a servant at the age of eleven. He has been complacent ever since; never one to stir up trouble or go against authority, and somehow retains a good relationship with his older sister.

Currently: Jamie is currently working as a servant in Brunnhold, usually on laundry duty or working in the library. He shares a dorm with two passives named Fionn and Lars, and does his best to stay happy and out of trouble.

}}

==Appearance==
Taller than the average Anaxi male galdor, broad-shouldered and solidly built, Ayden could be seen as intimidating. Life as a gated passive has given him a fair bit of muscle, especially in his arms, although he's definitely softer than one might expect having had an easier life for the past few years. None the less, he looks as if he could do a lot of damage to somebody. His intimidating look is perhaps added to by closely cropped light brown hair, at times barely leaving enough of it to cover his scalp at all.

His skin has a slight olive hue beneath a multitude of freckles. His features are broad and fairly angular, his nose flattened a bit as if it has been broken and spread out on his face. His eyes are small, giving him a slightly squinty look and they are soft blue in hue, sometimes appearing grey depending on the lighting. His eyebrows are much darker in shade than his hair and arch dramatically, giving him a permanently sly look. In spite of all the makings of a thug - and truthfully, he is one - the passive typically wears a smile, often charming but frequently better described as ''smug''.

===Diablerie===
'''Run, Rabbit, Run:''' Ayden's diablerie has actually occurred twice in his life, shortly before his arrival in Brunnhold and once during his 21st year. For those who might try to categorise passive's diableries in a similar manner to normal spells, they would likely class it as Perceptive as it affects instincts. Its range is an 10 foot radius and those caught in it will experience an extreme sense of terror attached to a "flight" response. For those within an arm's reach of him, this terror response is so intense that they will actually be unable to flee, remaining fixed in place and fainting is a high possibility. Beyond that, the terror is simply enough to send the unfortunate recipients running like rabbits pursued by a predator.

==Personality==
Whether he was born that way, was made so by a product of his environment or a combination of the two, Ayden is a very twisted man. Outwardly appearing charming and empathetic, in truth the parse is cruel, sadistic, exploitative and apathetic to the feelings of others. He appears to have a disdain for the attachments that other people form and seems to go out of his way to use those attachments to cause suffering. He takes pleasure in holding power over others and his greatest joy appears to be in breaking people - the tougher, the better - as if they're a puzzle that he can crack. It is typically for him to seem personable and friendly, especially to those he's chosen as his "marks" as he will do everything he can to be ingratiating.

He is extremely confident with an easygoing and smug air about him. He might not be the most intelligent of servants but he is quick to pick up on things, noticing patterns where others might not and seeming to have a very good grasp of social dynamics. To him, socialising is a game and one that he knows how to play. Despite his aggressive and often hurtful tendencies, Ayden has a cool head and a great deal of patience.

==History==
Ayden's start was a messy one. Born to an on-again, off-again prostitute witch Suzana, who thought she'd been ''really'' good with the stopsage, and (his presumed father) a golly Bad Brother, Hadrian, his family situation was neither a stable nor a safe one. His parents obviously had enough of a relationship that Hadrian was willing to keep tabs on Suzana until quite far into her pregnancy, obviously showing some willingness to settle down and be a family man.... right up until he ''wasn't''. Heavily pregnant and too terrified to attempt a late-term abortion, the witch was forced to birth Hadrian's bastard son without any hope of support from him. It also quickly became clear that children could be a difficult and expensive long-term commitment, and as such, the woman was forced to go to Hawke for assistance while Ayden was a toddler. Locked into servitude as a prostitute in Old Rose Harbor, the woman found raising her son to be a difficult thing indeed, forced to let him run wild with other children although she did attempt to appeal to Hadrian.

As it turned out, the Bad Brother did keep a secret eye on the boy, trying to gain a sense of his character from a distance. Even if he was someone else's bastard, there was the possibility that it might be possible to groom him as a worthy heir. When the boy was 6, he finally stepped in to take something of a hand in his education after watching him kicking out the teeth of an older boy. Ayden had already seen plenty of things that a child probably shouldn't at that point but when his father took him in, his exposure to the seedy underbelly of the world only intensified.

Claiming to simply see promise in him rather than saying that he was probably his father, Hadrian introduced Ayden to a world of blackmail, leverage and coercion as he allowed him to see his life as an enforcer. By the time the child was 10, he'd witnessed a great deal of violence, drug abuse and sex, and was well on his way to entering a similar life himself.

Until Hadrian took a gunshot to the face.

Disputes happened sometimes and it was the Bad Brother's ill luck to be too slow on the draw when he was surprised, his son witness to the fatal shot. Unluckily for him, it managed to miss enough vital bits that he didn't die at once but his death was assured and with it, the young wick was left suddenly adrift. There was no one else to claim him, no one else to look out for him and so he was left on the streets, paranoid and terrified that another Bad Brother would decide that he was a liability and come looking for him.

Not long before his 11th birthday, the boy was found trying to stowaway on a ship and was pursued by a pair of Seventen. Whether they were in Hawke's pocket or not wasn't clear but when his diablerie basically blew up in their faces, they decided that he'd be safer in Brunnhold where he couldn't cause them any trouble and his passivity seemed assured. A test was carried out to be certain before the parse was gated for 'his own safety.' While others sobbed about their new circumstances and whined about lost parents, Ayden saw Brunnhold as an improvement. He had a roof over his head, food and stability and it didn't seem likely that anyone would try to ''really'' hurt him here. What was more, he found that there was something recognisable in the social structure in the scrapyard, a hierarchy that he could adapt to quite well. It took some time for the boy to get into the swing of things but he was already world-aware, which was a definite advantage.

By the time he was midway through his teens, Ayden had gained a good sense of how to get what he wanted in the scrapyard. Sometimes he had to suck up to the right people and befriend them, sometimes he needed to find leverage to use to bend them to his will, sometimes the right sort of pain or blackmail produced the desired result. He learned the various currencies that could be used and worked to gather them. For all intents and purposes though, he appeared to be a model servant. He was polite, well-behaved and hardworking, at least from the gollies' perspectives and for the patrons, he either had them onside or they regarded him favourably - everyone seemed to behave so well around him. He was viewed as a positive influence and so it wasn't unheard of for troublesome passives, including those new ones that seemed difficult to settle, to be put in to share a room with him. Whether the patrons were aware of his methods for breaking them or not, he managed to bend them into quite acceptable shape so what if there were muffled cries or the occasional scream from the dark?

In his early twenties, he grew somewhat bored of his little empire and did his utmost to get noticed in higher quarters. He began taking more jobs that required him to serve gollies, careful to go above and beyond in his service until he was recommended for a position as assistant to an ageing golly professor. What he taught was never of any interest to Ayden - why bother caring when magic isn't available to you? - but he definitely had his advantages. Maybe he was going soft in his dotage or maybe he'd always been a bit sympathetic because he worked on the young man's literacy skills, which had been sorely neglected for years. He wasn't much of a reader but it did help him to learn some new things when he could find anything that was worth his attention.

The end of Yaris 2718 saw Ayden returned to the scrapyard because of the death of his galdori patron. His recently lost position marked him as trustworthy and so when one of the passive patrons met an untimely death, it made sense for him to be inserted into the position in early Dentis.

Since the death of a patron in early Dentis 2718, Ayden is in charge of a wing of male passives which includes [https://anaxasdiaries.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=551 Lars] and [https://anaxasdiaries.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=557 Fionn]. He's taken to the new role like the proverbial duck to water and is doing everything he can to quell any rebellious urges in his charges by any and all means necessary. He's also most definitely abusing his power.

Name: Morgan Lamorat
Race: Galdor
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Birthday: Yaris 26, 2702
Kingdom of Origin: Bastia
Current Location: Brunnhold, Anaxas
Occupation: Student

Appearance: If not for his dark hair, Morgan could be mistaken for an Anaxi. Standing at 5'5", he is small-bodied but not weak. He is quite fit, though a simple glance at him might show him as only slender, and can hold his own in a fight. His features are sharp and regal, though his expressions are often goofy and sly.

Personality: Morgan is a very goofy boy. Though when isolated and left to his own devices he is quite the deep-thinker and finds himself prone to melancholy, he is very extroverted and spends the majority of his time with his peers. In social gatherings, he is known for being a bit of a prankster, and is always quick with a dirty joke.

History: Born in Florne, Bastia, Morgan led a life of privilege, molded by creative parents and wealthy grandparents that provided for them. At the request of his grandparents, he was sent to get his education in Anaxas at Brunnhold, despite his desire to stay in Bastia, but Morgan has integrated easily into the neighboring kingdom.

Currently: Attending Brunnhold and focusing in Perceptive conversation. He is good friends with Donatien Savatier and a multitude of his other peers.

==Appearance==
Cés’elisé holds himself with quiet confidence and proper posture at all times. He is average for a Bastian galdor, standing at 5'4", with brown hair and eyes. While he does need glasses, he only wears them while writing or during performances. He is always well-dressed, even in the comfort of his own home, and his hair is always combed back and off of his forehead.

==Personality==
Although not the most social of people, Cés’elisé is kind and comfortable when he does have to engage, and most find him an easy person to talk to despite his fame in Florne. He is a hard-working, determined man, and when he isn't conducting, he's probably at home rearranging the music of others and composing his own for the orchestra.

==History==
Cés’elisé has spent his whole life in Florne, born in 2676 to a family of musicians. He grew up attending concerts and performances of all kinds, and this fostered a love for music and composing from an early age. While attending the university, Cés’elisé pursued his passion, first playing the music he wrote on the streets of Florne, and eventually gaining enough attention and popularity to be noticed by the Leirres Orchestra's conductor. This conductor, known only as Livio, took Cés’elisé under his wing, and that spelled the end of his education at the university. He left during his seventh year to work with the orchestra full-time, and when Livio passed eight years later, Cés’elisé took over as conductor. Since then, Cés’elisé and the Leirres Orchestra have traveled across Bastia, even making the occasional trip to Anaxas when circumstances allowed, and the idea of ever retiring is a foreign one to him.

==Currently==
Cés’elisé lives in Florne with his three cats: Pui, Baztan, and Aio. He works as a conductor and composer for the Leirres Orchestra based in Florne.

==Currently==
Cés’elisé lives in Florne with his three cats: Pui, Baztan, and Aio. He works as a conductor and composer for the Leirres Orchestra based in Florne.

==Appearance==
Gaspard is a bit tall, at 5'8", and stands out in a crowd both because of his height and his ever-messy dark hair. He has a tendency to look scrappy, even when in fine clothing, and more often than not wears sweaters with threads loose at the sleeves, or trousers with a rip or two. His eyes and hair are both brown, as well as the hint of a beard he keeps.

==Personality==
While he is truly very friendly, Gaspard often comes across as rude, especially when first meeting him. He makes a lot of jokes at the wrong place and the wrong time, and usually doesn't realize he's made a mistake or his jokes fell flat until later on. Gaspard holds his friends close to his heart, and though he knows that he should usually shut his head, he still tries his best to lighten a situation or cheer someone up. While playing piano, he takes on a different air; his normally gentle hands a hard force against the keys, with a passion for music and playing it that can leave him staying hours after a concert, playing to an empty room.

==History==
Gaspard had a normal childhood in Florne, although was sent to Anaxas to attend Brunnhold for his schooling. The neighboring kingdom wasn't a place that he enjoyed, and his education was rough because of it; he never learned to fit in or mingle with his peers and struggled with being away from his family for ten whole years. After graduation, Gaspard returned immediately to Florne, determined never again to leave Bastia unless it was absolutely necessary. Upon returning home, he joined the Leirres Orchestra as their lead pianist and has been playing with them since.

Name: Cezelia Remis
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Birthday: 2694
Kingdom of Origin: Anaxas
Current Location: Old Rose Harbor
Occupation: The Illustrated Man

Appearance: Cezelia is a common human female, about 5'3'' in height and with medium toned skin, relatively free of blemishes and marks. Her eyes are a dark, deep brown with long, dark lashes sweeping above them. Her hair is jet black - cut short, around her chin with bangs. She usually wears her hair tied back with a headband or bandanna. Upon her entire body, besides her face, she bears intricate tattoos. Some of which she has created herself, while many others were completed by her late grandfather, Cezare. From her feet to her neck and her fingers, many of her tattoos are marine and sailing related, but many of them are simply interests or images she found appealing. Most tattoos are black and white, but many are colored as well.

Personality: At first meet, Cezelia seems to be all about business. She greets customers in a strict, curt manner, and really only begins to open up once her needle his the skin. Until then she demands payment upfront, unwilling to compromise with the sketchy persons that frequent the harbor. However once payment has been made and she settles in for the work, she loosens up and begins to really talk and enjoy herself with the customer. She is friendly, entertained, and talkative, often not needing input from the person she is working on to continue the conversation. She has many stories from the numerous wanderers that have come into her shop and can regale and laugh at these stories for hours if she is let. Once a piece is finished, whether one one session or a few, she always smiles broadly and welcomes the customer back anytime. However even regular customers cannot get past her solid stance at first entry.

History: Cezelia was born and raised in Old Rose Harbor, while she has parents whom she loves and sees often, she spent the most time growing up with her grandfather after which she was named. Cezar and Cezelia shared the common interest of art and tattooing and Cezar acted as a mentor for the young girl. He taught her to draw when she was just a child, and eventually she graduated into an apprenticeship with the old man in tattooing. She practiced on both herself and her grandfather, as well as willing volunteers. Once Cezar died when Cezelia was 20, he left The Illustrated Man to her to continue the legacy. She does so willingly and happily and spend most her days within the shop, aimlessly drawing when clients are not around.

Currently: Cezelia runs The Illustrated Man in Old Rose Harbor, a tattoo shop located south of the Trader's Market. She is an experienced tattooist and artist. During the day she speaks to clients and determines their wants for their body art. She begins the process by drawing up a model on paper, a rough sketch, and sharing the image with the client. Alterations are made until the client is satisfied, and the payment is made before any permanent art is instilled. After payment Cezelia get to work with the tattoo and several meetings may be necessary for completion. Prices can range from cheap to very expensive, it all depends on the size, skill and detail of the tattoo.

Name:
Reginald Sebastian Wiggins
Race: Galdor
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Kingdom of Origin: Anaxas
Current Location: Vienda, the Chancery
Occupation: Principal Policy Analyst - Office of Legislative Affairs

Appearance: Wiggins is not a large man, in fact he is rather small and slightly ill-looking. He possesses a wide thin mouth, dark, slightly curling hair and pale skin. In dress he is a representative of his class and station, dressing in decently made rather drab garments.

His voice is reedy and somewhat pinched, and he has a tendency to speak very quickly, especially when flustered. Which is all the time.

Personality: Wiggins can be a fussy, somewhat insecure man, but he is more than competent at his job. In his personal life he worries he is not particularly interesting and so has decided he must acquire a past before it is too late. He has, so far, taken up playing the Bastian horn (playing in a small chamber ensemble and getting good reviews), learning various forms of dancing (he’s a decent but unremarkable dancer), figure drawing (though he’s still a bit embarrassed when looking at nude models),and has become rather good at bird watching, recreational astronomy, and hobby paleontology.

He has also mastered the art of the self-deprecating and highly amusing anecdote about the various stumbles and general misfortunes he’s had in acquiring his talents. Do ask him about the curious incident of the widow, the music teacher, the four chairs, and the bowl of grapes.

In short, Wiggins is a far more interesting man than he gives himself credit for, and is always open to trying new and interesting pursuits. He will talk at length about his own, of course, but equally will he listen to anyone else with a passion for their chosen hobbies.

All in all, Wiggins is a decent sort of fellow.

History: Wiggins was born in a less fashionable suburb of Vienda to a family of the middle classes. His childhood was conventional, even dull. He would occasionally be packed off to visit relatives at the seaside when he was small, where he acquired a love of swimming and a particular horror of large colonies of seals.

As is usual for Anaxi galdori, he was admitted to Brunnhold, took to the political sciences (more or less neglecting magic, in which he never shone) and graduating with good, but unremarkable grades.

At 21 he entered the civil service, first as a secretary in the Office of Legislative affairs and then had a rapid rise within that office. He was a careful, diligent researcher, wrote long, detailed commentaries on bills that were brought before him. His generally inoffensive manner and air of charming befuddlement made him the ideal person to send to politicos to tell them just how awful their ideas were, and could they perhaps make the following changes, amendments, and alterations?

He has been the protege of Basil Ambrose Shrikeweed for a number of years, and has taken on a number of his responsibilities since Mr Shrikeweed’s reassignment to Incumbent Vauquelin.

Currently: Principal Policy Analyst - Office of Legislative Affairs

Name: Godfrey Norland Cotswold-Wainwright, known almost universally as ‘Wainscoting’[/url]
Race: Galdor
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Birthday: (optional)
Kingdom of Origin: Anaxas
Current Location: Vienda
Occupation: Junior Partner at the law firm of Pocket, Pockett, and Hattersleigh

Appearance: Wainscoting is, to be blunt, a handsome man. Dark haired, with excellent brows a string chin, a gentlemanly roguish bearing, he stands out whether he wants to or not. And he very often wants to be seen.

For an Anaxi galdor, he is rather tall, with an athletic and trim frame. He takes excellent care of himself and takes frequent, vigorous exercise.

He has been noted to be rather vain, although in a somewhat understated way. He favors the latest fashions, but well made and in dark colors when in season. With his elegant clothes, athletic bearing, and notable height, he is the epitome of the well-dressed man about town.

Personality: On the surface, Wainscoting is the perfect example of the image he has so carefully cultivated over the years as a raffish, somewhat superficial man who gets by more on his charms than on his professional prowess. It is not precisely an act, he is a man for whom appearance matters a great deal, but that does not mean he is not also a quite excellent lawyer.

He is usually seen, in his professional capacity, arguing cases before the court in his studied, elegant tones, mixing fine performance with finer legal acumen. He is sporting in his work, allowing opposing counsel their due respect and consideration, but it is a superficial politeness. He’s as ruthless as can be imagined when arguing his cases.

In his private life, he is something of a romantic, and has carried on several quite extensive amorous relationships, four times with women and twice with men. He’s rather cosmopolitan in his taste in partners, but he is adamant that they be able to argue well about all manner of things, have a lively wit, and can be his intellectual equal. What’s the point in having a partner if they are not also great good fun?

He is a rather sociable man, and a member of the Pendulum Club where he can often be found enjoying the company of his fellows and gossiping in the way that only lawyers can.

History: Wainscoting is a Vienda man through and through. Born in the Clockhouse district and raised among the professional classes. His was a stern but fair upbringing and he was expected to conduct himself with the decorum that befitted his station. For the most part he did, though he wasn’t above getting into rather a significant amount of trouble.

He is no great sorcerer, with only middling abilities at best, and so he focused his education almost entirely upon secular matters, especially the law. A conventional profession for a man of his origins and there were many legal persons in his family. Though had he gone into medicine that too would have been seen as acceptable.

In his time at Brunnhold he was fond of dueling but, being a poor sorcerer, took to fencing and boxing, in the most genteel ways possible. Still, such occupations could land himself and his fellows in a certain amount of trouble and so he and a few close friends set up an amateur legal consulting firm in their last two years at school, handling small disputes, arguing before disciplinary committees, and making a small by noticeable income from their fellows.

Upon his return to Vienda, he took a position first as an article clerk at the firm of Perkins &Thornby but found the work there tedious, as the case matters he was given were dull in the extreme. Still, he passed the bar under their bland tutelage. A few years later, still in his twenties, he left that dreary firm and took a position at Pocket, Pockett, & Hattersleigh where the work was of greater interest, the atmosphere more congenial, and the pay considerably better.

As a man who tends to live beyond his means, though not extravagantly, a solid profession with a good salary has allowed him to establish a number of lines of credit and though he is often slow in payment, he offers pro bono legal services to his creditors as a means of compensation and apology.

Currently: At present, Wainscoting is a junior partner at Pocket, Pockett, & Hattersleigh primarily focused on arguing civil cases before the court, though he does have knowledge of the criminal law and can be consulted on such matters as necessary.

Should a case before him have political implications or touches on the minutiae of government he often consults with his closest friend, Basil Ambrose Shrikeweed, whom he has known since they were five years of age.

He can often be found at the Pendulum Club or at his offices. He is more than willing to consult on law or engaged in good-natured badinage with an interesting party. If one must play whist with him, it is better to be his partner than his opponent, for he is excellent at the game. Do watch out when playing cards with him, for he is ruthless and as soon as the cards are dealt, he known neither friend no family.

Name: Henry ‘Hal’ Wilkes
Race:Human
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Birthday: (optional)
Kingdom of Origin: Vienda, Anaxas.
Current Location: Vienda, Painted Ladies
Occupation: Consulting criminal, fence, racketter, protection provider

Appearance: Wilkes is a well built, solid man with hard, strong features and a swaggery air. He stands a little taller than average for a man, but he is no giant.

The hair upon his head is close cropped and of an indifferent brown shot through with some early grey. Though some strange art, Wilkes always maintains a 3-days beard. It’s never been known to much longer or much shorter, and certainly he is never seen clean-shaven.

In mode of dress he is practical sporting open collared shirts, often striped, with the sleeves rolled up, sturdy trousers and either a vest or a set of bracers. When going out he often sports a flat cap and wraps his neck in a scarf or a bandana, simply knotted.

Personality: Wilkes is a bully, a tough, and a braggart. He is also a clever and calculating criminal, a reasonable, if harsh, leader of his circle of housebreakers, thieves, cons, fences, and smugglers. He maintains his control over them partly through fear, and partly though his strangely open-handed means of dividing the proceeds of a job.

He can be generous, and even forgiving of mistakes, but insubordination is something he cannot stand. He thinks of himself as ‘the essential man’ and to persist in questioning his authority or to make a mockery of him is to invite his wrath. Something his one-time consulting thief Bailey Sneed learned all too well.

He is also a man of his word, hating to go back on agreements. A deal is a deal, and he’ll do his best to fulfill his end of the bargain.

History: Wilkes is a Dives man through and through. Originally from Saddlery Hill he made inroads into the gangs and grey markets of Painted Ladies and all along the waterfront. For a time he was an enforcer for a loan shark, and the number of kneecaps he has broken in his time is best not to consider. It was just a job, and most of the poor fools he was obliged to tool up really did not deserve so harsh a fate.

He took to making loans of his own, generally on slightly fairer terms, building up a fairly loyal clientele, and one he would defend with vigour. From these clients, combined with his own significant prowess, he was able to seize control of the loanshark’s business, and push him out of the Painted Ladies. What happened to the loanshark afterward has been the subject of considerable, but hushed debate. All agree it must have been a bad end.

Operating semi-legitimately as a pawnbroker and small moneylender, Wilks likes to think of himself as a ‘facilitator’ and a ‘consultant’. For modest fees, he will extend his protection and patronage to local persons and businesses, enforcing the terms of contracts that fall outside the law and cracking down harshly on violations. Should a particular job arise, perhaps a little burglary, a robbery, some wetwork, or handling stolen goods, Wilkes can put together a crew at short notice, drawing from his extensive network of contacts and criminals in his debt.

He’ll facilitate jobs for just about anyone who pays well enough and doesn’t interfere with his business. He knows the right people, has the right reputation, and more than enough swagger to pull it off.

Currently: Currently, Wilkes operates his little criminal consulting and facilitation business from H&W Jewelry and Loan with his partner Hopkins. Wilkes runs the business end, and Hopkins handles the goods.

Need a bit of criminal consulting, a few freelance ne’re-do-wells, or a place to sell your stolen merchandise? Or maybe you just need a swaggery bastard. Either way, Wilkes is your man.
