Character Summary & Goals
Matty is an ex-hooker currently on the run from his previous employers after escaping the brothel he was working in and thus running out on his contract. He is currently still in Vienda, living on a boat moored somewhere in the Painted Ladies with his partner and rescuer, a human named Sunner Baywhite. He has found employment as an assistant at a tailor shop to keep food on the table while Sunner repairs the boat and attempts to fit it with a steam engine.

Sunner is most often described in ambiguous terms as Matty's partner. He is more like Matty's friend, lover, protector, and confidant.
Sunner is responsible for helping Matty escape the brothel where he worked.
Sunner is always made aware of where Matty is going to be and how long he expects to be there. While this may seem like overprotection, Matty is the one who tells him out of a fear that he may get snatched while they're apart.
