The Beast of Iron and Fire
a plotline track
premise
Gale is plagued by the dream of invention, a motorised bicycle fuelled by keroene and capable of carrying a man further and faster than any horse or beast of burden. And what a dream it has become.
I dreamt I rode upon a steel horse filled with fire; each hoof was filled with thunder, each breath belched flames as it tore across the sky. I could feel each tremble in its gate, as eight legs worked in unison and left behind its lesser in a wake of lightning and ash.
Gale's goal is to build the first motorised bicycle and patent it. The unusual case here is that there is no set villain, but more that things are delayed due to breakages or environmental factors. Later on, this may change into the villain being "the system" which may or may not hinder Gale in getting a patent - of course, this may also depend on.

For additional protection, Gale should probably make a record of their progress and legally submit it to a vault for safe keeping (on the chance someone tries to steal their ideas) - it is otherwise known as a "Inventor's Notebook".
acts
This will be broken down into three acts:

Act 1

Prototype One
Gale has a couple of tasks and points to cover during the creation of the first prototype - all starting with ignition and then not blowing themselves up in the progress.
Ignition Point - Gale needs to build a Working Ignition
Test Drive - Gale needs to test the drive
Engine Blowout - Gale needs to build a coolant for the Bicycle after it overheats.
Second Test Drive - Gale takes it for a second drive to test the coolant system works, but the total weight causes the machine to buckle.

Act 2

Prototype Two
Gale begins by rebuilding the base frame for the bicycle from scratch, and creating a better engine system for the bicycle.
New fittings - Gale tests some new fittings and adjustments to the frame to see if it works.
Efficiency testing - Gale with the weight reduced
Run and Jump - Gale discovers that it can be started through a run and jump method.
The long drive - Gale takes the Bicycle out for an extended drive to test performance.

Act 3

Saunders Mark One
Gale improves upon the prototype Two more and changes it into the final template for the patent and blueprints. Cue the legal challenges.
The final polish - Gale does the final designs and fittings for the bicycle
A Plan Decided - Gale creates the blueprints in high detail and attempts to seek some legal advice.
For what is mine - Gale attempts to legally obtain a patten in their name.

Nothing Yet

When the last of us will disappear
Like shadows into the night
The broken ones, the fighting sons
Of ignorance
