"Alright! I am going to leave the rest up to you as I have to go and clean a room." Saryn said to the rest of the passive maids on her shift.
Saryn had room cleaning duty and it was about time for her to get to work.
Today Saryn's maid outfit was spotless, well.... as close as she could get to perfect especially after a couple of hours of work. Her outfit was newly washed, dried, pressed, and scented and her hair was put up into a barely looser than tight bun that bobbed ever so slightly as she walked down the hallway. She had worked on making it readily apparent that her hygiene was well taken care of. Her attention to detail was well apparent in her slightly scented skin, managed fingernails, and careful but deliberate straightening with her clothes to be precisely correct on her frame. The only item which could have been considered out of ordinary, or against the norm of maids in Brunnhold was a single golden earring that housed an inlaid ruby that dangled off of her right ear.
Saryn sighed to herself.
Whenever she had done these tasks, she always asked herself if the galdori were even capable of cleaning after themselves. With the amount of dirt, dust, and detritus that was created in the wake of the hoard of the suffocatingly elite of the country, she would not be suprised if they were just overgrown babies or children that did not know what they were doing. In fact, she almost caught herself cringing at the thought. "I have to be careful to moderate my facial expressions.....lest they find out how I really feel." Saryn murmured to herself as she headed through the halls
She eventually made her way over to the door that, in her mind, loomed. This wasn't particularly something new though as Saryn was always a little nervous to step into a room and accidentally mess up, causing some sort of punishment to befall her as she was trying to fix her mistake. While being nervous was some of the reason why she had found engaging with the door in front of her, another was anticipation.
What cool items could be lying on the other side of the door? What could she get away with stealing? She loved the feeling that she got when she got away with an interesting item, not that she kept the item of course. She had a habit of taking an item and hiding it somewhere else in the room as she had both no reason to keep the item and she never really stole for the material gain in the first place. The closer she got to being caught, the better it felt when she got away with her little "game".
She then pushed herself to knock on the door, signifying that she was here. After knocking, she felt a little bit of a rush of relief, as she had just overcome a little of her own mental timidity.
"Hello, this is one of the maids. May I come in to clean?"
