“I’ve been to one of his classes. His students are terrified of him,” the young woman teased lightly as she picked up her glass for another swig, her cheeks warming up from the alcohol. Even in the way he’s teaching… Daalton was unrelenting, intense. Not unlike the argument they got into right after said class. But it was best not to think of that.

The young woman shrugged mildly at Daalton’s comment. While they were both Hulle’s star pupils, Daalton was the professor’s favorite. She never minded that fact – it allowed her more freedom, to explore the studies she had more interest in. “I needed a proficient Physical mage more than I needed an additional Living mage.” Not to mention that she would prefer to operate on her own terms. While it would certainly be more beneficial to have a respected professor such as Hulle involved… Well, she would like to keep the little experiment hers.

Absentmindedly, she turned her hand so she could link her fingers through Daalton’s. She turned towards the man, smiling slightly as she took in how carefree he seemed tonight. It was certainly out of character for him – no doubt the alcohol had loosened him up. Their last relationship happened back while they were both still students so Elise did not really have a lot of opportunities to see the older Living mage drunk.

“Nothing conclusive yet, but it seemed like it’s entire possible to mimic the depolarization and repolarization of nerves using mona-generated electricity. It is still quite unrefined… But we can work on that.” Her eyes then wandered off to the other people surrounding them, watching their gestures, the slightest twitch of their muscles. “We’re still far from manufacturing coordinated movements… But not too far.”

Elise then turned to the blonde ambassador, noting how the couple was more comfortable with each other since the last time she had seen them. “And you, Athrym? Has Brunnhold been treating you well? Find anything to occupy your time? Because personally I think that dating a professor,” she mused teasingly, giving a pointed glance at Daalton, “allows a rather loose schedule.”

While the young doctor had found her own schedule getting packed by the day with researching and flipping through her notes regarding the complex nervous system, Elise was quickly finding that her time in Brunnhold had been rather dull. Even spending her time as a part-time healer at the university clinic hadn’t helped. She missed the hospital, feeling the weight of a scalpel in her hands, the heart pounding rush as she sutured a bleeding artery… Elise had been considering her return to Vienda soon. But she had not brought it up to Daalton, unsure of how he might react.

Tonight was probably also not the best of times.
