Wealth and status often make a large difference in one's appearance, and if that is true, then Daalton is the poster child for the divide. Cleanly cut, well-groomed and manicured and always dressed sharply, the Galdor's pampered upbringing is evident in everything he does. His hair, a light brown that could have once been blonde, is cleanly cut and in place, and even the wind does not seem to be able to upset it. His eyes, piercing blue, are intense and focused, and the colour is clearer than many others. His facial features are cut and distinct, and his face is pleasant and memorable.
Stature wise, it's apparent that he was given the very best as a child. He is fit and healthy, not overly muscular but not frail either. He is garbed nearly always in the finest clothing, always on the razor's edge of fashion. He may be a sorcerer, but he'd be damned if his studies meant he couldn't appear to be the perfect specimen that he was.
Never described as warm and inviting, Daalton prefers his solitude. Distant and cold to those around him, many call him bitter and aloof, but he isn't. His intensity is driven by an urge for perfection, and that is off-putting to most. Combined with his haughtiness and extreme narcissism, and it's easy to see why Daalton doesn't have many, if any, true friends.
Throughout his childhood and young adult life, he was often the spoiled and loud center of attention. When the focus wasn't on him, he'd act out and ensure that it was. No other children could be looked at, fawned over, glanced in the direction of... It was always about Daalton, and that was something that he never grew out of. During his years in the university, he often lead a small group of like-minded students to bully those around them, using their magical prowess and cleverness to ostracize and brutalize others. When intimidation didn't work, he'd direct any potential enemies to the field, where he'd use his unique grasp on Living Magic to bring them to their knees.
As an adult, though, the desire to outwardly punish those tempered. Daalton grew quieter, more withdrawn, and though he has no problems interacting with others, he just pushes them away. Instead of dragging them to the fields to punish them, he manipulates and controls the situations around them, figuring out ways to affect their long-standing health. More clever now than ever, Daalton wears a smile like a snake does, only when necessary and not for long.
Born to two wealthy Anaxi merchants, Daalton was raised with everything he could wish. His parents had no other children, and he was the focus of all their attention and wealth, even negatively. With no siblings to spread their expectations among, Daalton became their primary target for high expectations and strict regiment. From a young age, his parents began grooming him for the university, and while both were rather respected Perceptive Mages, that never appealed to Daalton. Instead, he was more interested in anatomy and the mortal form. Living Conversation would be his choice.
At 10, he underwent the test to gain access to the University, scoring a 7. This brought ire from his parents, both of whom had scored a 9, and it prompted Daalton to lie to others about his score. Any who doubted or questioned him found themselves quickly targeted by the bright and malevolent sorcerer. More times than one, he would take students to the fields to prove to them his aptitude for magic. In the early years, this was his modus operandi and his reputation. Quick to fight, quicker to manipulate and blackmail.
When he was fifteen, Daalton and another student, Nauleth, made their way to the fields to duel. Both boys bullies, both positive of their proficiency with their focuses, they faced each other and began their duel. Nauleth was powerful, strong in Physical Magic in a way that Daalton could not be, but Daalton knew how to respond. Particularly proficient with sickness spells and spells that focused on the body, Daalton's use of Living Conversation distracted Nauleth enough to force him to brail. Directly responsible for the backlash, Daalton disappeared before the professors got there.
After graduation, Daalton traveled to Mugroba to study the effects of the Mugrobi Plague on the galdori in the kingdom. He spent two years there doing research before returning to Brunnhold to become a junior professor of anatomy at the university he used to run.
