Physical Description

Ginzer's wild black hair is highlighted with crimson red and royal purple coloration. The hair stands up on end, with a pair of long sideburns, framing the tribal's gaunt face. His eyes are dark brown, almost black. He stands at a height of 5' 8" and is lithe of build.

He fancies color in his clothing, often preferring free-flowing scarves and capes of red, and garments of dark forest green. While traveling, he'll often wear a nomad's robe of sand cloth, that comes down to his ankles and covers him from the dirt of the road. In cities, he'll sometimes wear trousers, but for the most part, prefers his robes and free-flowing capes and scarves. He often wraps a scarf of red, green, and yellow around his head, yet not covering his hair. He prefers to show off the coloration he keeps in his hair.

His most prized article of clothing of all, though, is a braided, multi-colored cloak that holds many collected charms on it. It was his wife's dowry when he took her from a Yellow Eye clan living on the outskirts of Old Rose. It is of far better make than most of his clothing, and he wears it almost everywhere, over whatever other outfit he chooses to wear on a day.

Personality

Ginzer is a zealous traditionalist. He keeps to the nomadic way of life, in keeping with the traditions and outlook of the Red Crow tribes. Yet he will trade with almost anyone, whether they be tsat, galdori, or human. He is hard to get through to, and much of his thick Tek dialect must be translated by his wife, who travels with him. She'll often translate over the saltier language he uses with more congenial tones in Estuans if only to help him make trades and not offend city folk.

He lacks patience, and usually won't hesitate to lash out if he's being tried. Often enough, one deal or another has fallen through despite his wife's best efforts to smooth things over.

Still, like most wick, he enjoys having fun, on his own terms. He often will play harmonica, or dance to pass the time while at camp. Engaging with him in these activities is often the best way to get in his good graces. Otherwise, he doesn't care for people who talk a lot.

Backstory

Birth

Ginzer was born in the foothills of center-eastern Anaxas. His father, having been the one to deliver him, gave him to his mother to nurse, and then promptly returned to the head of the caravan, to consult with the Durg. He had several siblings older than him, and then half a dozen that came in the years after. The size of his family lent an impersonal attitude toward their relations, but they got along well enough as he grew to childhood.

Youth

More withdrawn and shy than his peers, Ginzer took to scavenging very early on. As his finds became more impressive, the clan leaders and his father decided that that should be his profession. He was set up with an apprenticeship under one of the foragers and gatherers within the caravan and thus learned which finds were useful and for what. He learned how to follow tracks in the road and wilderness, which often led him to secret treasures that others had hidden, thinking they would be safe.

He made a good little fortune for himself and was able to scrape by and contribute to the clan well before he was an adult. Eventually, the years turned and he became an adult,, which really didn't seem to change all that much in terms of his daily life. He could take to relaxing more, given his average fortunes granted him a measure of comfort.

Adulthood

The clan caravan stopped by Old Rose one year, in 2717 in the heat of Yaris. There, the clan went on into the city to perform their cultural dances and songs for coin and supper. All was well for a few weeks until one of Ginzer's brothers had gotten into a poker match with one of the Yellow Eyes. Ginzer's brother was accused of cheating, and thus a fight broke out. Nobody could say who was responsible for calling Ginzer's brother out, but the end result was that he died, and honor demanded that the Yellow Eyes settle with Ginzer's clan.

Given the numbers of the Yellow Eyes, and strength in this part of the world, Ginzer could see this would not end well. So he sought to find a way to settle the dispute without it devolving into bloodshed. He went to one of the elders of the Yellow Eyes, to see if they could find a way to avert disaster for his clan.

Seeing his desperation, and the opportunity to evade responsibility for the death of his brother, the elders readily agreed to settle the dispute. They offered him a bride from the Yellow Eyes, with a dowry of a beautiful, silk, multi-colored cloak. The price for this, was significant. Ginzer was expected to pay an extortionate sum of his property. Several of his carts and animals, save for one broken down cart and kenser. Bitter with his lot, yet seeing no other avenue to evade conflict with the faction of Yellow Eyes in Old Rose, Ginzer accepted.

Present

Ginzer now travels with the caravan, trying to scrounge up a living once more with his newly wed wife in tow, and his least healthy kenser leading the cart down the road to search for treasures in the wilds and in whatever population centers he passes through.
