Where does one begin with Maro, who looks so much as one would expect of a Yellow Eye, yet within the Yellow Eye tribe, not as one would expect of the Seran Family?
To begin with, the brown haired youth stands at 5'7", hair kept short and stylized as what could only be called 'an organized mess' with a single braid dangling before his ear. His eyes are a brilliant shade of hazel complimenting a smile that by its very nature is both brilliant and smug.
His physique itself is lean, the muscles beneath his attire while not prominent lend themselves to one who not only walks a lot on his feet but stalks the plains and forests on the hunt for his next meal. Callouses on his fingers and a scar upon the back of his left hand from mishandling a skinning knife can all but attest to that.
Over it all Maro tends to wear clothing of bright clothing consisting of a pre-dominantly green shirt striped and rimmed with yellow, a pair of white trousers and a pair of travelling boots. However on the hunt he opts for clothing of more subdued colors, subdued browns and greens as to better fit the environment.
If you're a passive, list your diablerie here.
One of the most basic aspects one would notice of Maro and single him as atypical of the Maro family is that he is social. Being that most of his family are fairly conservative and they don't take much stock in galdori. Humans, or wicks from their own tribe made it all the more clearer whenever he talked pleasantly to anyone. He simply loves to meet new people outside the family, loves to hear all about them, about their travels, about what makes them tick, simply put anyone new is like a new playmate to socialize with.
The second thing one would take stock of Maro is that he is naturally very smug, even if perhaps he has no reason to be. In fact he is so smug it borders on narcissim as he refers to himself in the third person.
What they wouldn't notice however is that on the inside, Maro Seran is a very lonely person. There is a wall between him and most of his family due to his very nature being so opposite their own. Creating a sense of not being good enough that seems to have evolved into an insatiable want that he can't define, as if being called upon a path with no ending.
Another thing they would not notice that despite his smug attitude, he is diligent when it comes to things he cares about, despite attempting to shirk off more menial chores to his younger siblings and cousins.
Regarding politics and races, he holds the galdori with as much disdain they seemed to show wicks whenever his family inevitably crosses their path; A people with a highly inflated view of themselves that make him look humble by comparison, their government is better off failing and being rebuilt anew by heads far more sensible.
Humans are a mixed bag, granted he finds them far more likeable than the galdori but that tends to vary from person to person, humans either like you, hate you, or are indifferent. They are good fun to talk though and well... there's no shortage of attractive people there who are approachable.
Other wicks, perhaps that is more complicated. His family tries to keep out of it but they stick their ears in to know if trouble is brewing and with everything going on in Anaxas it seems to be brewing big, bad enough that the Dorhaven, where a good portion of the Yellow Eyes reside, had a bombing but tensions between the many tribes seemed to be on the rise and Maro isn't sure if the Seran can be kept out any longer.
Passives, from what tales he knows galdori passives are better off living as wicks if they ever find the opportunity, so what if they can't use magic? Maro doesn't use his at all and he's living fine!
Born as the third child of Iris and Harlo Seran, during the rainy season, the bright bundle of joy would soon be a basket of headaches for his Da and Daoa. The Seran family of the Yellow Eye tribe long kept to itself away from tribe politics, only gathering to remind their tribe they exist and engaging in wick events. Some persume its because some of the other Yellow Eye families offended the Seran in someway, leading them to become one of the nomadic families that didn't fit the modern Yellow Eye mold.
The family's patriarch and Maro's daobrunno, Szerak knew from the moment he saw his nephew's eyes that he would walk a different path someday then the family and surprisingly, compared to the boy's own mother and father, he would perhaps be the one person Maro would respect growing up.
While Maro showed aptitude in the Seran's preferred lifestyle of hunting, even as a child he would prefer the company of strangers rather than his own family, curious about a world that the Seran tried to keep out of in spite of their best efforts to dissuade him. Wherever they went, whomever they traded with, he would try and befriend them because he was quite curious of all the people they come across.
The boy who was so unlike his family would soon grow into a man, and a fair hunter at that, while his actual skills in combat were middling he had potential to be one of their bests. However as he grew into a man, so did he began to chafe as a member of the family, Frequently he would butt heads with Iris and Harlo over the direction of his life, but what they wanted of him and what he wanted were of course different things. Many believed he would up and leave the family, but in spite of all this he stayed for his Daobrunno, but Szerak knew that it was only a matter of time before his nephew left the nest...
He could only hope for his nephew that whatever path he took, he would never regret it.
