Physical Appearance
xxxxxA once bright smile has been made dull. But that doesn't stop Evette from striking people with how pretty she is 'for a passive'. Eyes as dark as the night sky are framed by thick, straight lashes. Hair like the finest silk spun from the greatest spinning wheels reaches her mid back, and often spills over her delicate shoulders and slender frame like a gentle stream in the forest. With a babyface that leads most to believe she's younger than she truly is, "Eve* was used to hearing praise of her appearance that even with so much of her life spent indoors, she's good and ready now to use her looks to get what she needs. "Whatever it takes" her father used to say. "Play the cards you've been dealt" her mother would say. And that's just what she plans to do. Her ease of life until this moment has left her without a single wrinkle or worry line- but that's all about to change. Her brow is pinched with determination as she leaves home for the first time, and she's no idea how hard it's about to get.
Diablerie:
Memory Ablation: Though it has not presented itself yet, Evettes diablerie is one of emotional psychological horror. Upon reaching the trigger, anyone in her radius is blasted with an invisible force that knocks them back off their feet. Nothing major- until they sit up and realize they don't know who they are, what they were doing, where they are- or who Evette is. An empty slate if you will- her victims forget everything in their lives up to that moment.
Of course strong emotional connections to loved ones remain. They may see their house and feel happy, or a friend and feel relieved- but they won't know why. For some this effect may last a few days while others lose their memory for the rest of their lives or go mad. The stronger willed, healthier, younger someone is the better chance they have at possibility at having a faster comeback.

Personality
xxxxxA smitten with life girl has frozen over like the ice in winter. No longer can she trust that people will treat her kindly, and when they do it is with pity. Evette lives now constantly trying to prove herself to whoever she meets. 'I'm not just a passive!' She'd cry, though most still look at her with some form of disdain or sadness.
xxxxxShe's an artist, an avid reader, a writer, a songbird of sorts, her voice charms even the most hardened of hearts and it is perhaps only when she sings that she forgets what her life has become.
But like all artists, a note of narcissism hangs high above her head. She believes she can accomplish anything so long as she tries hard enough and sacrifices enough. Most might find this endearing, coming from a passive, but that only enrages her further and stokes her inner rage. She's tired of not getting what she wants, tired of being looked down on, and ultimately tired of how her status as a passive affects her relationships- or lack thereof- before she even speaks.
Ultimately, Evette is headstrong. And at this point, she refuses to be anything but.
Backstory
xxxxxA life of luxury. That’s what she had.
xxxxxFrom fine dining in her home city of Vienda to extravagant gifts to high society events Evette’s life was perfect. When she’d asked for a dog, she got it. When she’d asked for a new dress, the designer would come over the very same day. Not one day of her childhood was anything but perfect. Of course there were rules to follow as the 5th, and youngest daughter of a noble family, but she had always followed them perfectly.
xxxxxEvery year on her birthday her parents would host a party in their estate. Hundreds of people would attend and lavish the girl with gifts and praise while she sat on a velvet chair in the dining hall. But her 10th birthday was different. Instead of a feast and party games it was a trip to Brunnhold with her entire family.
xxxxxBut it didn’t go as planned. It was determined faster than most that she was a disappointment- a passive. The following months passed by for the young Evette like a daydream. She was quarantined like a sick child, barred from seeing her friends, and not even allowed to go out shopping with her family.
xxxxx‘How could this happen to them? Why us? We dieted right when we had her, we sought all the doctors, what went wrong?’ Her parents asked themselves questions for months but something ultimately had to be done- and when one of their friends asked if Evette had become sick the lie was officially born.
xxxxxFor the first few months she’d receive gift baskets and care packages, and sometimes even letters. But eventually they stopped. One by one, year by year, the people she knew faded from her life. And after four years, her lonesome days had become normal. ‘Sickly’ Evette couldn’t leave home, nor open her window. She’d had no visitors, no parties, nobody to see her in over a decade. All knowledge she learned came straight from her own reading from her parents' libraries.
xxxxxEven her siblings stopped talking to her as much. The entire household treated her like she was frail, like she couldn’t even make her own pot of tea. She felt… stupid. She felt angry. The once cheerful Evette became quiet and cold and turned her back on anyone who looked at her with such pity in their eyes, and found that being alone was more comfortable than being gazed upon by even her own family.
xxxxxThen, one moonlit night when she was taking a walk in the backyard garden, the only safe space for her outside, she met a boy. He was sweet. Only a year older than her, his tousled brown hair, deep eyes, and romantic personality took the breath from her lungs and the ground from beneath her feet.
xxxxx“The name’s Toma. At your service, miss.” He bowed, winking as she flushed and returned the gesture. “I’m Evette.” Their first encounter felt strange to her. She told him she was sick, that he’d have to stay back if he wanted to be around her at all. But he didn’t mind. Toma simply enjoyed the girl's company, and the strangeness of her demeanor. She was different. She didn’t seem to know what family he was from and though he knew of the ‘sick child from the Baemont family’, he never imagined she’d have been so beautiful.
xxxxxFor weeks, every night, they would steal away into her garden and eat berries and bread together. But she’d never let him get close- “I’m too sick, stay far back.” She’d say, pushing a strand of hair behind a pinkened ear. Their eyes would dance under the stars and every day they met her desire to get close to him ached in her chest.
xxxxxThen came the night it all changed.
xxxxx“Are you really so sick I can’t even stand next to such a handsome lady as yourself?” He asked, hands stuffed in his trouser pockets as they walked parallel on either side of the rose bushes.
“Toma…” Her heart skipped a beat and she stopped in her tracks. She bit her lip. “What if… you could?”
He skidded to a stop. “Well then, I’d have no hesitation behind my step.” He stated matter of factly.
xxxxx“Then…” She took a step down one of the pathways, one that intersected his. “I have something to tell you.”
xxxxxAnd she did. But the silence of his response was louder than any hurricane. He just stared, at first confused then shocked. But his expression quickly soured. “What in the six kingdoms… are you serious?” He scoffed, watching as she nodded in shame.
xxxxxHis lip twitched as he took a step backwards. “A fucking passive- I fell for a damn passive-! Your whole family- a bunch of liars- and you-!” His voice rose with every word. And at the end all he could do was shake his head at her. He rushed off through the thicket, over the garden wall, and through the trees back towards his home.
xxxxxShe sobbed herself to sleep that night, but her midnight grief was nothing in comparison to the coming days. Shame to the family, a business ruined, broken relationships, reputations destroyed, and angry, shameful parents screaming at her after the brand was forced upon her.
xxxxxThe family tried for years to gain what they’d lost back, but the damage had been done. Her father began drinking and gambling, unable to handle the stress of trying to raise a, frankly, handicapped daughter and his failing reputation. Three of her siblings even got married, but Evette saw no invitation. The other, eldest child, took over the business but struggled greatly without the help of their father. And her mother… she was in denial and acted like nothing had changed since before their secret was revealed.. In some ways it was comforting, in others it was sickening.
xxxxxEventually Evette began to realize… they’d be better off without her... and so she ran.
