Kani Tow-Zik is 5'2", dyed brown hair with gray roots starting to show through, brown eyes, lightly tanned skin, long slender hands and fingers, and a heavily scarred chest. His left eye is slightly lower than the right.
Kani Tow-Zik is a wise old man, a master at the art of piracy. He sees anyone who's not his own crew as silver, gold, and goods to be plundered. Diplomacy is not something he was ever good at, preferring 12 pounder cannon to speak for him, and the 24 pounders as backup. He sees Galdori as stuck up punks, and deserve to be relieved of their goods and lives. Whereas Humans are spared lives and rarely roughed up, preferring to skim off the top and be on his way. He doesn't care for the rebellion in Anaxas, preferring to make silver and gold.
Kani grew up on a long ship in Hox waters. His mother was a pirate, and his father a captive tuned husband and navigator. Here he learned from a young age to pull his own weight and value crew like family. At 16 he was given the gift of his own ship and crew. The ship is named The Mayfold
For the next two decades, he followed his parents fleet and became a key part of their shock forces. Across the coast and up and down river, the men and women of that fleet pillaged as they liked. The furs, pots of honey, and valuable trade goods like silk and jewels were then taken and stored in cache's up and down the coast. These have been traded over the years into over a ton of silver spread across five different cache's.
At 37, he faced his first true tragedy. His father died in his sleep, drowning in pneumonia. He was buried at sea, and this broke him and his mother. The two relied on each other more and more until later that year she died of grief. Overtaken by melancholy, he gave control of the fleet over to another captain. Two crews refused to go with the other eleven ships, leaving a fleet of two long ships and The Mayfold left. They took several pounds of silver and trade goods, and took off down south to get away from it all. After two years of peaceful sea life, Kani regained himself and decided to return the fleet. When he came back, he found them ever prosperous and 15 ships in strength. They shared gifts and dinners together as they caught up. The new commander of the fleet he appointed convinced Kani that the shores of Hox were now slim picking. That he should strike out west to find new ports. So Kani did so, spending the next few years exploring new waters and learning new cultures.
Now, he as an older man, looks to set up a legacy for his yet to be children. His eyes turn to the place he visited once, a Human-Galdori kingdom in turmoil. The rivers go deep inland, and so he would begin to set his legacy there.
